The Pfingstberg for Children

Although the Pfingstberg cannot be compared to an adventure playground, where one can climb trees and wildly romp through the surroundings, it offers children an interesting palace atmosphere with labyrinthine passageways, stairs and surprising views that make a visit to the Belvedere exciting and attractive. The charmingly beautiful and partly overgrown gardens all around the Belvedere and the Temple of Pomona can inspire a child’s imagination, enticing them to linger. Just like adults, every child can find diversions from daily life and immerse themselves in a romantic world.

The Förderverein Pfingstberg offers a number of family-oriented events in its summer programs. The children’s season regularly begins on Walpurgis Night (on April 30th), when witches large and small merrily dance around a fire, receive magic lessons and engage in competitions of magic. At its conclusion the most beautiful witch is chosen before the blazing fire. Visits by storytellers who tell fairy tales atop the Temple of Pomona have a long tradition. They are equally enjoyed by children and adults.

Beginning in the 2009 season (from March to October), children’s and family events varying from children’s theater, pantomimes, puppet shows to fairy tale stories on or in front of the Temple of Pomona will be offered on Sundays at 4:30 pm.
